The two styles of gospel we know are usually called "Urban Gospel" and "Southern Gospel." Urban Gospel has its roots in African-American churches, and is just as popular in parts of the rural South as it is in cities. The Southern Gospel style arose mostly in European-American churches. All of this music is available for everyone to enjoy through the national and international media. Many gospel songs can be performed in either style, and some performances (like Karen Drucker's "I Know") are hard to classify. Some of the gospel-style songs at Heart Wind Music are closer to Urban, and some to Southern.
