VERSE
Every day when I come home from school I open up the door
And see my little puppy come a-sliding ‘cross the kitchen floor.
She wags her tail and licks my face a couple hundred times or more.
I’m dancing the happy dance.
We’re dancing the happy dance, easy as can be.
Make a little circle with your hand and knee.
Point, point, finger joint up into the air.
Throw your head around until you lose your hair.

Every time I take a walk with grampa to the grocery store,
He lets me pick a treat, a sweety sweet that I’ve been waiting for,
And then he buys some food and puts in in the basket for the poor.
I’m dancing the happy dance.
We’re dancing the happy dance, this is how it goes:
Wiggle all your fingers then you touch your toes.
Slap, clap, finger snap, turn yourself around.
Do the boogie woogie ‘til you fall right down.
VERSE
When my cold is better and my scratchy throat no longer sore,
And I can watch T. V. because my head’s not pounding anymore,
My temperature is down to ninety-eight instead of one-oh-four,
I’m dancing the happy dance.
We’re dancing the happy dance, you can do it too.
Think of all the reasons why you don’t feel blue.
Toe, toe, heel and toe, take it to the rear.
Do the jelly roll until you disappear.
